DST Exam

Application Process

Step 1: Register for Design Scholarship Test (DST)
Step 2: An automated Verification Link will be sent to your registered email ID. Activate your account by clicking the link.
Step 3: Complete the application form with the required details.
Step 4: Upload a passport size photograph, accept the declaration and submit the online application form.
Step 5: Proceed to Application, followed by payment of the application fee of ₹1,000 + applicable taxes.
Step 6: On scrutiny, verification and acceptance of application form, Admit Card (Exam Link with Login Credential) will be generated two days before the Online DST Exam and will be sent to candidate's registered email id.

*Note: Applications are through online mode only.
1) Design Scholarship Test (DST), is conducted jointly for admission into BDes & MDes programs at MIT ID Indore- Avantika University.
It is an MCQ-based test of 3 hours (180 minutes) duration.
There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
2) MIT ID Indore- Avantika University will shortlist the candidates based on DST Exam.
3) The shortlisted candidates will be called for Thinking Challenge and Personal Interview (TCPI).
1) The next step after the DST Written Exam is Thinking Challenge and Personal Interview (TCPI), conducted by MIT ID Indore - Avantika University. The shortlisted candidates of DST Written Exam, will recieve an invitation to appear for TCPI Round on their registered email id.
2) The shortlisted candidates will be required to upload their Digital Portfolio and Assignment, Thinking Challenge (in pdf format, size not bigger than 10MB) on the provided Google form (Googe Form Link will be shared by TCPI Invitation Email).
3) The shortlisted candidates will be presented with the option to choose a suitable date for TCPI, On choosen date, the Admissions Department will allot a time slot along with a Zoom link that will be shared on registered email. The Candidate needs to be join as per date and time alloted for Personal Interview.
4) Candidate who do not appear for the TCPI Round will not be eligible for further steps as this is a mandatory step to be followed
1) A comprehensive list compiling the marks obtained in both the DST and TCPI assessments will be prepared. Qualified students will be issued offer letters along with detailed information about the scholarships they have secured.
2) The Admission Committee determines the selection procedures, grading criteria, and weightages annually. The norms and standards set for selection are solely at the discretion of the Admission Committee. All decisions made by the Admission Committee and the Management regarding the admission process and candidate selection are final and binding.
3) Candidates must fulfill the minimum eligibility requirements for the program to which they have applied. Failure to submit the necessary and valid documentation will result in cancellation of the admission.
4) Any direct or indirect attempt to influence the Admission Committee, its members, academic officials, or the Management will result in the automatic disqualification of the candidate(s).

1) After DST Exam and TCPI Round, a final merit list bearing the eligible candidates' will be prepared, followed by the issuance of the Offer letter, enabling candidates to apply for enrollment.
2) Admission will be made purely on merit. However, the candidate has to fulfill the minimum eligibility requirements for the program applied.
3) The Admission Committee decides the procedures, grades, and weightage every year.The norms for the selection are the sole prerogative of the Admission Committee and the decision of the Admission Committee and the Management in any of the matters concerning the admission process and selection will be final.
4) Any direct or indirect attempt to influence the admission committee or its members, academic office bearers, or management will lead to the automatic disqualification of the candidate(s).

DST question paper is based on the following parameters. The weightage of each parameter is subject to change as per the discretion of the paper setting committee.

Format of DST Examination:
DST examination includes computer-based MCQ (objective) test, subjective test and offline drawing test.

Objective Exam – Computer Based Test
Questions would be appearing on the computer screen on a random basis with options shuffled for each candidate. Candidates to respond on the computer screen.

Descriptive Exam – Computer Based Test
The subjective question will appear in a different section on the computer screen.
A text box will be enabled for each candidate to write their responses on the computer.

Drawing Exam – Offline Test
The drawing question will appear in a different section on the computer screen.
Candidates will be provided A4 size drawing sheets for this section.
Candidates need to draw using Pens / Pencils / Colours on the sheets provided.
These answer sheets will be collected, scanned and uploaded for evaluation at the test centre.
